Step 2: Acquire licenses
You can acquire licenses through one of Microsoft's Academic Volume Licensing programs by contacting Computer World, an Authorized Education Reseller (AER). Computer World is authorized to sell volume-licensing agreements to qualified educational institutions and sell Academic Edition retail products to K-12 and higher educational institutions, their faculty, staff members, and students.

Step 3: Deploy Licenses
Once you have acquired licenses by choosing the appropriate Microsoft Academic Volume Licensing programs, use the Microsoft Product Activation and Volume License Product Keys to help you deploy and manage your software.

In order to allow installation of software with Product Activation on multiple computers, Microsoft provides you with Volume License Product Keys. These keys only work when installing from volume license CDs or MSDNŽ media. This is important to remember as Campus/School Agreement Starter Kit CDs, Microsoft Licensing Fulfillment (MLF) CDs (Microsoft product CDs purchased through your reseller), Select CDs and MSDN CDs no longer include a Product Key on the CD or packaging. Additionally, Retail CDs (boxed product purchased from a retail outlet) can no longer be used for multiple installations. Campus/School Agreement Starter Kit CDs, MLF CDs, Select CDs and MSDN CDs are the only media available for multiple installations.

Upon installation of the software, you will be prompted to enter a 25-character key. Enter the applicable Volume License Product Key in the space provided. It is important to remember that the Volume License Product Keys are assigned to your institution and are intended for your sole use

Finding Your Volume License Product Keys
There are five Volume License Keys available based on the specific product being installed.

Volume License Product Keys for products that included Product Activation as of the time of agreement signing can be found on your agreement acceptance/confirmation letter.

You may also receive your Volume License Product Keys by accessing the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service (MVLS) site or by calling the Microsoft Activation Center. Details on Microsoft Volume Licensing Service (MVLS) and the Microsoft Activation Centers can be found by visiting the Microsoft website. You will need to provide the following information when calling the Microsoft Product Activation Center:

Campus and School Agreement:
Subscription Enrollment number

Academic Select:

Step 4: Deploy Licenses
Renew License Coverage for Campus, School Academic Open and Select Agreement

If you are nearing the end of your subscription term, review your options for continuing your license coverage. We recommend that you begin the renewal process by contacting us 90 days prior to the expiration of your term.

You already know about the many benefits of subscription licensing, so be sure to renew your coverage on time. Not only will you keep your licenses compliant, you will have also the opportunity to:
Add products to your coverage. Increase the success and productivity of your faculty, staff and students by licensing all of the tools they need.
License students. Now that you have experienced the benefits of standardizing your staff and faculty on the same software, it is a great time to do the same for students and build a true connected learning community. You can only add the Student Option when you renew your annual coverage, so now is the time.
Include other departments. If your current enrollment is for only one or more departments, consider including other departments or your entire institution. You may even qualify for lower pricing.
Receive special pricing.  As a renewing customer, you qualify for special pricing. If you have the one-year subscription, the per-unit pricing from Microsoft to your distributor will not increase by more than 10 percent over the previous year's pricing as long as you license the same products in substantially the same quantities.

If you have a three-year subscription, the per-unit pricing from Microsoft to your distributor for the products you ordered for year one will not increase for years two and three.
